GMAT考试中遇到“嵌入式从句”切忌排除选项！

在GMAT句子改题的选项中，有时候会出现一种“嵌入式从句”。这种选项句子读起来非常不顺，很多同学也不太熟悉这种结构现象，所以经常立马把它排除。

信任自己的语感一定程度上有帮助，可是看明白句子才是更可靠的判断标准。如果你在做题的时候把自己不认识作为排除的理由，而不是认识到这个表达并不恰当，那我不得不suo，you have a long way to go!

今天，就带大家来认识一下嵌入式从句。

嵌入式从句如何形成

嵌入式从句的现象首先发生在定语从句里，比如：

The candidates often makes statements that are not true.

但是如果定语从句同时又充当了一个主谓结构的宾语从句，也就是：

They think that statements are not true.

那么此时，就会出现这种嵌入式从句的现象：

The candidates often makes statements that they think are not true.

↓↓↓

The candidates often makes statements that they don’t think are true.

有的学生看到这两个谓语立马懵了，表示完全不能接受，但是不接受也得接受，英语没见过的形式多的很。面对这样的结构，我们要记住：

1)这个主谓要放在定语从句关系词that和谓语之间

2)做题的时候直接把主谓部分当成插入语删除看会更清楚

我们来看看OG中的一道题：

The World Wildlife Fund has declared that global warming, a phenomenon most scientists agree to be caused by human beings in burning fossil fuels, will create havoc among migratory birds by altering the environment in ways harmful to their habitats.

本体首先先排除DE定语从句，这里没有agree sth to be/as这样的搭配;而且定语从句VS同位语一定选择后者。

接下来，ABC的同位语后面接定语从句，定语从句中要嵌入most scientist agree这部分，所以它要放在that后面 答案应该是C选项：

本题答案D选项表达的是：

有的学生会说 我为什么不能说what it claims to be the ……因为claim并没有claim xxx to be 这样的搭配。首先问题是你得知道CDE的现象是存在的正确的形式，所以*不能说没见过这种形式直接排除。
