专业术语太少说,他们这就一同看看此次为他们预备的单词吧。
1. interference
interference那个词涵义这类不难,意为:干涉。部份同学对那个单词的认识是既能则表示反面的干涉,即妨碍,也可能是反面的干涉。这儿他们来看呵呵美国传统字典(AHD)对interference那个单词的评注↓:
字典之中为了连写了四个反面的则表示”妨碍“的单词-hinder,obstruct,impede-来表达那个单词的反面含义。因此他们需要记住:interference是个反面词义的单词。举三个范例:
1.1 The national bank has been uncommonly powerful in comparison to its counterparts in other nations. It retains this potency partly because its control of the nation’s banking systemis (i)______ governmental interference干涉, and thus its actions remain largely (ii)______.
这道试题之中准确率*的是第三个字符。这类一字符内部结构比较简单,是三个because连接的自然法则内部结构:即使it,即national bank,对banking system的支配(control)同中央政府干涉(governmental interference)之间是怎样的一种亲密关系,因此national bank*留了他们的精神力量(retains this potency)。部份同学将那个interference理解为萨德基的基本概念,那么是受到中央政府反面的刺激,从而维持了他们的精神力量,这是不对的。即使interference是反向基本概念,因此只能是摆脱中央政府干涉,才能拥有他们的精神力量。

2. revelation
reveal那个单词是ETS非常讨厌的单词,那个单词这类便携式了三个属性,是能体现出三个表达方式的反之亦然,换言之,那个单词这类是一道题,考row。举个范例:整件鸡毛蒜皮阐明出(reveals)他是三个伪善无赖。他们仔细感受这句话,你应该能得出三个结论,是在整件事情以后他们是怎样看待那个人的:他是三个自视甚高,对不对?好,这儿,ETS就要下工夫了,把那个人的反之亦然与此同时写进一句话里面,读起来稍稍有点绕,也就自然有些难度了,这句话也就变成了:整件鸡毛蒜皮阐明出(reveals)原本是三个自视甚高的他结论是三个伪善无赖。矛盾靠三个小小的单词带出。
与此同时那个单词的术语形式也是ETS讨厌考察的对象,reveal v. → revelation n. 那个单词在上面刚刚给他们解释过,本来是三个自视甚高的他结论他们辨认出是三个伪善无赖,因此,那个单词reveal或者revelation这类就意味着他们阐明出的是三个表达方式鲜为人知的另一面,是捷伊另一面,是以后他们不了解的。好,接下去,他们在掌握了那个单词的小常识之后再来看看下面的三道试题:
2.1 Barker’s account of how morality have evolved over time is illuminating. It reveals as (i)______ and (ii)______ some values that have often been regarded as (iii)______, while uncovering other values that do indeed seem to be universal.
这道试题的四个字符和前面的universal的相关联亲密关系是全校师生做到该试题的时候郁闷的问题。*句中间部份while提示了前后三个这段话矛盾,方向整体相反。与此同时他们能找到严格的语法相关联,reveal “阐明” 和前面的uncover “辨认出” 相相关联,some values和other values相相关联。*句话他们这儿稍稍整理呵呵,方便他们能够更好的Fossat相关联亲密关系,取同row:

因此他们得出,(i)和(ii)同 universal 那个单词是row的亲密关系,那么三字符呢,全校师生会感到迷惑。注意reveal那个单词他们刚刚提到过的用法:整件鸡毛蒜皮阐明出(reveals)原本是三个自视甚高的他结论是三个伪善无赖。那个单词便携式三个反之亦然,阐明出的另一面是捷伊,是同过去的另一面进行对比的。因此三字符说的是过去的看法(have often been regarded as),故那个字符和universal是同向,换言之,是和(i)(ii)字符反向的亲密关系。这道试题的答案为AEH,他们能照着以上思路他们花一些时间完成这道试题。
2.2. The material covered in this article has been (i)______ in previous publications, and since currently neglected areas remained unexplored, the article contains no (ii)______.
第二个字符这类内部结构比较简单,since引导的三个自然法则内部结构:即使当前被忽略的部份(currently neglected areas)仍旧没有得到解释(remained unexplored),那么该文章没有(contains no)(ii)____。很多同学纠结这儿,会不由自主的选择F选项:conclusions。revelation则表示“新意”,捷伊内容的意思。因此他们这儿需要选择D而不是F来满足句子的逻辑。这篇文章里面的内容以后已经说过,并且当前领域里面被忽视的东西还是没有得到解释,因此该文没啥大用。

试题翻译:在这篇文章之中被包含的内容(material covered in this article)在以后的出版物之中已经被查看过了(scrutinized),并且即使当前被忽略的部份(currently neglected areas)仍旧没有讲到(remained unexplored),因此这篇文章没有任何的新意(contains no revelations)。
3. superficial
superficial是个在填空题试题里面屡见不鲜的单词。涵义为:表面的,肤浅的。全校师生需要掌握三个用法:①用来形容表达方式之间的亲密关系,则表示“浅,不深”。其实和他们中文之中的用法是一样的,比如“表面姐妹”;②用来形容对表达方式的深入程度,则表示“不彻底,初步”
3.1 Although political events indifferent countries were not (i)______ in the 19th century, their interrelationship was (ii)______ compared with the present, when interdependence has become far greater: (iii)______ ceased to be an option.
此题比较简单,试题之中二字符处用superficial来则表示国家之间的亲密关系程度“不深”。选择D选项的全校师生注意,conditional那个单词,意为“有条件的”,它无法则表示亲密关系深或者不深:比如你得到了一笔财富,不过是有条件的(conditional)。这笔钱多还是少,光凭这句话他们无法得出三个具体的结论。
这道试题的答案为AEG,请全校师生自行思考其他字符的解题过程。
3.2 As astronomers do not yet have a good understanding of the fundamental nature of dark matter, it should not be a surprise that astronomy students’ ideas about dark matter are, at best, ______.
A. superficial
B. sketchy
C. inconsistent
D. mistaken
E. outdated
F. far-fetched
即使天文学家(astronomers)对暗物质的理解还很基础(do not yet have a good understanding),因此学生(astronomy students)的看法____。必然也是“初步的,基础的”。这道试题之中用superficial“肤浅的,表面的”来则表示“基础的”这一含义,同sketchy构成了一对同近义词。

4. incompatible
那个单词的意思是“不能共存的,不兼容的”,也是二者无法相适应。举个范例,那个软件和电脑操作系统这类“不兼容”:意思很简单,那个软件无法装进该电脑之中。二者无法相适应。
记住这种感受,他们来看下面一道试题↓:

内部结构是严格的相关联,因此缺三个动词的情况下,直接选择suited for(适合的)的反面就好了。这儿G不选择需要观察到试题之中存在这样一句话:One Mariacetus inuus fossil encased a fetus positioned for a head-first delivery, which is typical of a land mammal and suggests the species gave birth on shore→这种生物在岸上生产分娩(the species gave birth onshore)。因此这种生物是能上岸的。三字符他们选择G的话这这段话话就变成了:它的脚和走路(walking)不兼容,也是无法走路,那问题来了,它是是怎么来到岸上分娩的呢?飞上去的吗?明显不对,因此他们不能选择G,退而求其次选择H:笨拙的。走起路来很笨。

5. mixed
那个单词全校师生根据字面理解的涵义“混合的”这类没有问题,但是要注意ETS对那个单词的理解,它认为mixed的意味是:有好有坏的,即有好的另一面,也有坏的另一面,二者混合而成。那个意思在很多试题里面都是全校师生错过的正确选项。
好了,他们来看下面的几道很有代表性的试题↓:
5.1 Although movie critic PaulineKael had the distaste for sycophancy, he also had the need for (i)______, and as a consequence of his competing feelings, he often showed a (ii)______signals to his relatives and friends.
*句话是三个简单的consequence引导的自然法则内部结构:即使有这种矛盾的情感(competing feelings),因此他对他的亲戚朋友展现出(ii)____的信号。字符必然填入三个词则表示矛盾的对不对?这儿用mixed来则表示。第二个字符是很多同学做错的选项,会选择F选项:subtle 难懂的。注意,前面说了非常明确的信息给他们,那个人不讨厌拍马屁(distaste for sycophancy),讨厌尊敬(need for obeisance)。这不难懂,他的思想态度非常清晰,那是别讨好我,你要正经的尊重我。

这道试题之中AD是一对很多同学会选择的选项,他们要敏感的观察到试题之中*后这段话有三个情态动词:may,可能。这句话说,这些行为可能不是*好的改善教育的方式。如果你选择了AD,那么是明确说明了这些方式是不好的,即使这些results令人沮丧(discouraging)/言过其实(overstated),那么就应该没有may那个词。
他们*后应该选择CE,混合的(有好有坏的)/不一致的→这些方法有好有坏,结论不统一,因此它们可能不是*好的教育方式
6. daunting
daunting那个单词是我上课过程之中辨认出的全校师生非常典型的三个单词问题。那个单词他们能够记住它的含义,但是在碰到那个单词作为正确选项出现的时候,往往即使对它的用法和涵义理解不到位,*后放弃掉那个选项。daunting意思是“令人害怕的”,一般来讲用来形容“工作,任务繁重,即使难以完成,从而让人害怕,心生畏惧”。

6. Historian Babara A. Engel’s task in writing a book about women in Russia must have been a (i)______ one, because the (ii)_______ the Russian empire’s peoples meant that Russian women could never be treated as a homogeneous group.
一字符的C选项是很多同学放弃掉的选项。那个选项的逻辑过程不难辨认出,前后三个这段话由because连接构成三个自然法则亲密关系。前面说了:俄罗斯女性(Russian women)不能被当成三个相同的群体。因此用一本书来描述俄罗斯的所有女性必然是具有挑战性的,艰巨的。因此这道试题之中选择C选项真的是再合适不过了。
